Heavily armed police, including some with long arms were on hand as hundreds turned out last night at Sydney Town Hall Square, on Gadigal Land to protest against NSW’s new anti-protest laws and the Federal Government’s ‘hate speech’ legislation which they will try and ram through parliament in coming weeks. Civil liberties groups and protesters say these laws will stifle free speech and chill political expression.
The rally also spoke out against the visit of the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, in the wake of the Bondi massacre and the war on Gaza.
