Photographs from yesterday’s radical walking tour of Kings Cross. The tour included stops at the El Alamein fountain (site of police violence against LGBTQIA+ communities that led to the first Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras), ‘Tranny Lane’ (renowned sex-worker location during the 1960s, 70s and 80s), 156 Victoria Street (home of Lucien Henri, artist, activist and Frenchman who fought in the Paris Commune) and the home of Juanita Nielsen (murdered journalist and activist who fought against developers and corruption in the building industry).
The walk was organised by the People’s History of Australia podcast.
