Last Thursday, more than 1,000 people gathered in pouring rain at Sydney Town Hall Square, Gadigal Land, Sydney, ‘Australia’, to commemorate 77 years since Al-Nakba (The Catastrophe), the forcible expulsion and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homelands by Israeli forces in 1948.
The current genocide of Gazans by Israel has been called the second ‘Nakba’ by some, while others say the Nakba has never ended since its inception in 1948.
